Why should your organisation choose to use our service?

The Centre for Personal Development Health and Wellbeing Employee Support Programme, has been helping and assisting employers and employees within Merseyside and beyond, with our counselling service. We also have an employee focussed programme Coaching Service.

What is our EAP?

The Centre for Personal Developments Employee Assistance Programme (EAPs) provides a pro-active personal support strategy. Every business, large or small, employs people who from time to time will experience personal or work problems. When work difficulties arise from such problems, our EAPs provide the employer with a solution.

Designed to meet the specific needs of your organisation, our Employee Assistance Programme helps by assisting employers, managers, supervisors, and team leaders when faced with an employee who has work problems but has not responded to normal supervision and also ensures consistency in the procedures for dealing with employees whose personal problems are affecting their work performance.

Our Health and Wellbeing Programme is a structured and solution focused Model that we have been successfully using for the past 16 years providing Employee Support Programmes to numerous organizations in the public, private and voluntary sector. We pride ourselves on our individual Health and Wellbeing Programmes.

What type of counselling do you provide?

We work with employers that refer their employees that are wanting to confidentiality explore problems, or challenges they are experiencing in work or in their everyday life. We do this by providing an integrated style of therapy consisting of Cognitive Behavioural Therapy along with Person Centred Counselling.

An EAP is a strategic and cost-effective workplace programme that is designed to assist productivity and attendance issues within the workplace and support employees to identify and resolve personal concerns that may affect job performance. These issues might include health, marital, family, financial, alcohol, drug, legal, emotional, stress, or other personal issues

The support services offered by an EAP will generally consist of a blend of the following:

• Short-term psychological services, such as counselling.
• Information on emotional, work-life and workplace issues.
• Assessment, support, short-term counselling and referral for employee issues.
• Management referrals and support.
• Case management of all ongoing cases to ensure the assessment, treatment and support requirements are carried out to EAPA quality standards.
• Utilisation reporting.
• Working to the confidentiality and ethical standards promoted by EAPA.

Over the years EAPs have become an integral tool in an organisation’s attempts to engage employees and support the health and wellbeing of its workforce. In fact, the latest independent research commissioned by EAPA UK (2008) reveals that 5200 organisations – representing over 8.2 million employees
– now enjoy the services of an EAP.
