Hello. My name is Vicci and I am a qualified and experienced Counsellor, who offers individual counselling here at The Centre for Personal Development. I know how hard it can be to make that brave choice to go for counselling. Sometimes the first step is the hardest, but with the courage we all have inside, we somehow find the strength to do this.

You may be feeling stuck and confused, overwhelmed by your emotions, anxious or depressed. You may be struggling to cope with change – the end of a relationship, a bereavement, job loss or parenthood. You might not know what the problem is – just that something is not right. Whatever is on your mind, I can help you. Talking and being heard helps us to heal, and I offer a safe, confidential space where you can do this, at a pace that suits you.

The Centre for Personal Development is a Liverpool based counselling organisation, that provides a warm and friendly environment for counselling to take place, with several beautifully decorated private rooms, which are both relaxing and comfortable for our clients. We also have experienced and confidential reception staff who provide a warm and friendly welcome to all of our visitors.

How we would work together -

I provide a safe and trusting environment in which you feel comfortable enough to work through your issues. I feel being able to look openly and honestly about where we are in our lives is an essential part of our growth and development.

I am an Integrative Counsellor, which means I am trained to draw on whichever approaches are the best fit for you and the issues you bring to counselling. It’s your story, and I provide the right conditions for you to tell it and feel heard and understood. My role is to help you to explore your feelings and thoughts, in a way that supports you to make any changes you may wish. Talking about how you feel and being heard is the centre of therapy. Beyond this, it may be helpful to consider unhelpful behaviours, explore fresh perspectives, and different possibilities for change and growth. Working together we can explore where you are now, where you would like to be and how you can work towards getting there.

I am passionate about working together with you, to empower you to reach the positive outcome you desire. I can help you make the changes you feel you need, to move forward and live a more fulfilled quality of life, which i believe we all deserve.

Counselling Work History

I have a lot of experience work working with clients who are experiencing Anxiety, Depression, Low Self- Esteem, Confidence Issues, Stress related issues, Panic and Bereavement.

I currently work as a private counsellor here at The Centre. Previously i have worked at Doctors surgerys, getting referrals from the GP for the patients at the surgery that needed counselling for various issues, including anxiety, depression, stress, panic, loss, bereavement and low self-esteem. I provided long and short-term counselling, using my skills to successfully assist clients through difficult times. I have a genuine interest in providing support for clients, and as a Counsellor I provide a safe, counselling environment, to enable them to find their own way through the anxiety and depression and help them to find their own way to good health.

I also work for Age UK Bereavement Service. I enjoy my work as a Counsellor, working with people of all different ages, that have experienced a loss or a bereavement. Age UK Bereavement Service provides clients with practical and emotional support, to help them to adjust to their changed circumstances. The counselling process and counselling relationship that I provide to my clients, has helped them to make some of the changes, that they felt were necessary, to help them to find their own path, and to enable them in creating a fulfilled and enjoyable life, whilst still adjusting to the many changes that had impacted upon them.

As a Counsellor I believe that providing a safe and supportive environment for clients to explore their issues, empowers them, because they are better able to manage their life experiences, and learn to find ways to achieve a better quality of life. As a Counsellor I help my clients to draw on their resilience, and resourcefulness, as they work with me, to achieve a better understanding of themselves, and achieve a greater degree of autonomy. I use my counselling skills to help people to explore the issues that are surfacing for them and creating problems for them within their life. As a Counsellor I help them to recognise the changes they may need to consider, as they learn to think things through for themselves, and begin to make their own decisions, that will help them to improve the quality of their life.

I have also been part of a womens counselling organisation in Wirral. Their counselling service gives women and children an opportunity to find a safe place to look at the issues that are surfacing for them, and that are preventing them for have a good quality of life. This counselling service promotes opportunities for women’s personal growth and skills development, to enable them to get more from life. As a Counsellor I gained a better understanding of the issues that the women and children faced, and it enhanced my understanding of the women’s lives and the issues related to the psychological health of women in deprived areas, as they struggle against several problems in their everyday life, and work hard to survive. I believe this helped the women and children to improve their overall well-being, self-awareness and a greater understudying of ways to implement strategies, to improve the quality of their life.

I understand that contacting a Counsellor is a big step, and I acknowledge this, and provide an environment that is safe, secure, supportive, non-judgemental and confidential.

I look forward to working together with you soon.
